The Central Coast is Sydney’s nearest holiday destination, located just 90 minutes away by rail or road. The region offers year-round tourism experiences and is well established in the short-break, conference, and incentive travel markets. Its international visitor base continues to expand, with strong contributions from Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea.

Recent years have seen significant tourism investment, with the development of three major resorts: the 238-room Mantra Ettalong Beach Resort, completed in 2005; Mirvac Group’s Quay West Resort Magenta Shores at North Entrance, completed in 2007; and the Mantra Kooindah Waters Golf Resort in Wyong, completed in 2008.

Renowned for its relaxed lifestyle, pristine beaches, unspoilt waterways, and lush mountain forests, the Central Coast has built a robust tourism industry that attracts visitors from across the globe. The region welcomed over 1.3 million domestic overnight visitors who collectively spent more than 4 million nights in the area, reflecting a 16.5% increase compared to the year ending September 2012. Domestic daytrip expenditure also rose significantly, reaching $304 million, up 27.9% over the same period.
